A detainee of Mandoli prison in Delhi who kicked the bucket six days prior, was seen as positive for coronavirus COVID-19 an after death report affirmed, police said on Sunday.

Kanwar Singh (62) had kicked the bucket on June 15 in his lay down with no evident reason for death, jail authorities said.

Singh was indicted and condemned forever detainment in 2016 for a homicide case. He was held up in senior resident military enclosure of CJ-14, imparting the cell to 28 different detainees, authorities said.

“After his demise, the COVID-19 test was led on the dead body, the aftereffect of which came as positive. The COVID-19 test is being led for all the detainees of this encampment. By and by their wellbeing is okay,” authorities told ANI.
