Today millions of Brits will lie in bed for another ten minutes, spend an additional five minutes munching through extra toast over a lazy breakfast and take a longer shower. They won’t have to rush for the early train or get into the fast lane of traffic congestion. Instead, they will amble into their home office, switch on their PC and get stuck into emails and buried in office documents without commuting distractions, for today is National Work from Home Day.

In what could be the largest mass absence from work for a generation, an estimated five million people will not be going to work on Thursday, 15th May. None of them will be calling sickies, skiving or making excuses. In fact, their bosses may even be joining them and taking work home for the day, on National Work from Home Day.

Working from home can be a dream. No commuting, no fighting traffic, no expensive lunches, no petty office politics and no racing to climb the corporate ladder. And you could put in a pretty good day’s work without constant interruptions from colleagues’ phone chatter and funny emails, and of course, the always present, office gossip.

Baby showers are traditionally thought of as an American custom, but over recent years the phenomenon has swept the UK.  Celebrities such as Katie Price, Jennifer Lopez and Geri Halliwell have all recently held baby showers .  It’s a great chance for some girlie fun and celebrations ahead of the impending birth.

As the title states, why should we consider buying our babies clothes and toys made from organic cotton? We look with interest at organic baby foods such as rice and vegetables as we worry about feeding our babies food containing too many chemicals.  We do not think as much about the benefits of buying products made from organic rather than conventional cotton.
