About the Band - Catanic Panic
By AlexisPenaGoco @ 7:52 AM :: 23 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Entertainment
Photobucket

Pictured above is the debut album art of Experimental/Electronic Goth band called Catanic Panic in this almost self titled, play on words release titled "Manic Catanic" intended to be dropped early 2007. 2007's December, the end of the year came around quickly before any of the songs were completed, and so the release date was set back unconfirmed and tentative. Good news though, slowly but surely it IS being released, each song as CD Singles. Members are a duo which include Catanic, who began her career as a motif for independent author Alexis Pena Goco's "The Cat Book" -- an unreleased memoir about his experiences imbued in androgyny. Catanic biographically sketches artistic statements about The Cat Book's content with computer generated and enhanced images of herself in varied costumes and some elaborate sets. The second member is the mixing engineer and producer, Alexis Pena Goco author of "The Cat Book" and "Six Places". Catanic takes on the main portions of the backup vocals where Alexis cameos his male presence throughout the songs with also his backing vocals and keyboards, and they both adhere to the lead, computer generated vocals reciting strong narrative lyric presenting a very musical resonance, and chemical energy. Definitely worth checking out!
Never Look Up, the debut release by Catanic Panic offers three versions and is available now at Amazon.com or by direct purchase inquiry through Catanic Panic's MySpace Page (
http://www.myspace.com/catanicpanic.) Key to Cease, the second release off of the album "Manic Catanic" will be available 3/1/08. There are five other tracks simming in the production house, all songs in much the same fashion as Never Look Up and Key to Cease, with its' very rational and inventive, highbrowed lyric. Catanic Panic says "they are taking their time to release each song, and manicuring the look and feel of the music and artwork in ambition of being a distinctive band. Catanic Panic also says "It's not so much that we're hoping to be on the hits list, but that we strike a chord in people's psyches." Catanic shares that she went through an unearthly experience 5 years ago today and kept a very detailed journal of her many issues, and thoughts, which today have been sustainingly cathartic. She adds, "I would advise that a current person never pass the opportunity to write what they are thinking, which leads me to say that I am grateful of the many semantical designs and models of our modern world which serves as opportunities for someone like myself, and Alexis comming way out from left field, hoping to be more than appeased by a listeners undivided attention."

The Legend of St George and the Dragon

According to Legend, this story originates from a town in ancient Libya. In this town, there was said to be a lake where a plague-bearing dragon dwelled that terrified all the countryside.

To please the dragon, the townsfolk used to feed it a sheep every day, and when the sheep failed, they fed it their children, chosen by lottery.

One day, the lottery fell on the on the king’s daughter. The king was filled with fear and grief, and offered all this gold and silver if his daughter could be spared, however the townsfolk refused this offer and the kings daughter was sent out to the lake, to be fed to the dragon.

By chance, St George rode past the lake and saw the princess trembling. She sent him away, but he vowed to remain and protect her against any foe. The dragon reared out of the lake and charged.

St George with his shield and lance bravely hurried to face the dragon and gave it a deadly wound. With the chains used to tie up the princess, St George leashed the beast and led the dragon back to the town. St George then called out to all the townsfolk to convert to Christianity and be baptised, then he would slay the dragon in front of them.

The King and the townsfolk converted to Christianty and St George killed the dragon before them. On the site of the dragons death, a prominent church was constructed and all its waters declared holy.
