How Boundless Are The Packages From Sky?
By Danielcrow @ 7:49 AM :: 20 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Television

Sky TV, despite the best efforts of its rivals, is increasingly dominating British homes, with its wide range of channels and services at relatively low prices becoming ever more attractive in these recession-hit times. While a basic Sky TV deal gives you a variety of standard channels such as Sky One and Sky Atlantic, there are also a number of Sky TV packages that customers can take advantage of in order to give themselves more channel options based on their interests, which help them get more out of their Sky deals.

There are currently six different Sky TV Packages in total. For Trivial Pursuit buffs, there is the Knowledge Pack, which includes the History, National Geographic and Discovery Channels. There is the Variety Pack for those who love both the re-runs and the freshest new shows - it includes Dave, FX (home of the highly-regarded zombie drama The Walking Dead) and Living. The News and Events Pack incorporates Fox News and Sky Sports News, while the Style and Culture Pack, which includes TCM Movies and Sky Arts, is perfect for culture vultures. The kids will be entertained for hours with the Children’s Pack which comes with the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, while the Music Pack features the MTV channels and Kerrang. In addition, film fans can opt to receive Sky Movies, which shows a variety of classics, modern greats and new films, with sports fanatics perhaps preferring to catch the cricket, football, golf or rugby on Sky Sports. Customers can buy as many or as few of these as they wish, depending on the programmes they prefer to watch.

Customers can also bundle their Sky TV with the Sky Talk and Sky broadband services in order to save time and effort - rather than receiving three different bills every month which all have to be taken care of separately, they will only receive one. The Sky Talk service is cheaper than the standard service charged by BT, and comes with either the free calls between 6pm and 6am option or the more expensive free calls at any time option. The broadband service easily matches the best of Sky’s rival broadband providers, with download speeds of up to 20MB. As with the Talk service, there are two options available, hinging on the amount of monthly usage the customer requires - either 2GB per month or unlimited.

All customers need to do to get started is to choose a Sky Box to access Sky TV through. Customers can currently choose between a Sky Plus box for standard televisions or a Sky Plus HD box for televisions with high-definition capabilities. Both boxes are capable of pausing and rewinding live television, as well as recording entire series'.

Sky provides the widest range of channels and programmes to its customers in the country, while keeping up with its competitors in the broadband and line rental markets. With Sky Multiroom and various incentives for joining also available throughout the year, it makes no sense not to join them.
