LaVerne Council is an Inspiration for Women Working in Corporate World

LaVerne Council is a successful business executive and she has worked with some of the most reputed names in the business world. In past, she has been a partner with Ernst and Young and she has also worked with Dell, Inc as Global Vice President for IT, Global Business Solutions and Development Services. She has also worked as Corporate Vice President and the Chief Information Officer of Johnson and Johnson where she was tasked with handling and managing information technology and related systems for the worldwide enterprise of the company. She has held prominent leadership positions that focused on infrastructure engineering, networking, security and enterprise interfaces.
Through her hard work, dedication and sense of professionalism, LaVerne Council has carved out a unique niche for herself in the corporate world. She is a determined and headstrong woman who has become a role model for all women who want to scale the heights of success in corporate world and also excel in their life as a human being. Rewarding LaVerne Council’s achievements in the corporate world, she was recognized by Black Enterprise in 2010 as one of the top 75 black women in business. In May, 2011 LaVerne Council was awarded the Woman Of Substance award by Odyssey Media. This award recognized the work she had done for uplifting women, changing lives, and preserving African America culture. She also received Ernst and Young – Alumni Business Achievement Award in 2011.
A responsible member of the community, LaVerne Council is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs her help in any area of life. She has guided and supported co-workers, youngsters, mothers and women in all spheres of life. She is a role model and a mentor to lot of women who are trying to excel in their careers. Through her wealth of experience, she has helped people in achieving their highest potential in all walks of life. Presently, LaVerne Council is also serving as the Chairman of the March of Dimes National Board of Trustees and works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. |
