India is the place of holiness, dedication, beauty and various heritages. Many temples and shrines are built all over the India and are dedicated to various god and goddess. We will look into the very old and magnificent temples of Tamil Nadu which have peculiar significance. Cities and Hill Stations of Tamil Nadu are very popular among the tourists.

Tamil Nadu is the most popular land of temples. More than 30,000 temples are located at these religious places which were constructed by various rulers of different dynasties of Cholas, Pandyas, Pallavas, Nayakas and the Vijayanagar rulers. Tamil Nadu has the glorious inheritance of various temples. There are more than 275 ancient Shiva temples and more than 54 ancient Murugan shrines. Tamilnadu Cities are the show windows of distinctive art, sculptures, architectures, cultures and styles. Some of the Tamilnadu temples are more than 1000 years and all the temples have their own mythological story of creations. The Kapaleeswarar Temple of Chidambaram, Kumbeswara Temple and Chayavaneashwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva are the pilgrimage places for many devotees. Meenakshi temple devoted to Goddess Meenakshi is one of the biggest complexes situated in Madurai. Apart from these temples Kanyakumari Temple, Swamimalai temple, Madurai Murugan Temple and Chennai Krishnapuram Temple are the very popular Tamil Nadu temples which attracts number of devotees every year. The unique arts and numerous statues increase the beauty of Tamil Nadu Temples.

Tamil Nadu is a ménage of many natural resources. It is the multi – religion region. The shrines of Dravidian Architectures, Tamilnadu cities, its beaches and resorts, the hill stations make Tamil Nadu the Gem of India. Coimbatore also known as “Manchester of South India” is famous for handloom products. The Vock Park and zoo, the Forest College, the Perur Temple and Marodhamalai Temple are the Coimbatore’s prime attractions. Popularly known as the “City of Nectar”, Madurai is located near Vaigai River. Pandyas constructed the very illustrious Meenakshi Temple during their reign. Tanjavur, the Cholas capital in ancient times has artistic beauties and many places of interest.
